MARINETTE, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials with the Marinette Police Department say an incident in which a 3-year-old child died has now been ruled a homicide after initially being reported as an accident.
According to a release, a 3-year-old child was reported to have died after accidentally falling down a flight of stairs on June 15, 2023.
Victim shot in Wisconsin reportedly uncooperative with police investigation
Following an investigation from the Marinette Police Department, the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office, the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Forensic Sciences State Crime Laboratory in Madison, and the Marinette County District Attorney’s Office, the 3-year-old’s death has now been determined to be non-accidental.
The investigation has also led to the arrest of 32-year-old Samantha J. Wishman. Wishman, from Marinette, is now facing potential charges of First-Degree Reckless Homicide and Neglecting a Child – Consequence is Death.
