The Latest from Storm Team 5…
While it was nice to see the sunshine return today, the front that brough the rain and storms yesterday is actually the reason why the wildfire smoke has returned to the surface in northeast Wisconsin today.
For tonight, expect mostly clear skies with areas of smoke. Lows will bottom out in the lower 50s.
An AIR QUALITY ALERT is in effect for all the WFRV coverage are through Thursday at noon as near surface wildfire smoke is expected to linger about the area. We will see if this gets extended beyond that point.
Otherwise for tomorrow, plan on morning sunshine giving way to some afternoon clouds. Highs will be a few degrees warmer than today in the upper 70s to low 80s, cooler lakeside only in the lower 70s.
Friday brings in mostly cloudy skies and we start our brief decent downward in temperatures, topping out in the middle 70s. A few showers are possible in the afternoon, primarily north and west of Green Bay and the Fox Valley.
The better weekend day will be on Saturday with a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures in the low to mid 70s. Sunday, plan on rain and few thunderstorms, with more wet weather expected for Monday.
