Steve McGrath, a radio veteran spread out over more than 30 years, is a Minneapolis native, growing up listening to legendary stations like WLOL, leaving him with a dream to make radio his career. Becoming a graduate of Brown Institute set him on that path and he worked in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Eau Claire and, most recently, Green Bay. After a little time away, Steve is now back doing what he loves.
Steve McGrath is your plucky Morning Host, and what he loves, almost more than ANYTHING, is making people smile…maybe even LAUGH…and one of the best ways he’s found to do that is to play the Classic Hits that bring a tap to your toe and a hum to your heart!
Every once in a while, Steve will do or say something that widens that grin, even just a little bit! Steve loves to share things with his listeners that he thinks are just, like, the coolest! A celebrity doing something goofy? Steve’s on it! A feel-good story of a lost kitty cat finding their way home? Steve will bring it to you! One of Steve’s four kids doing something funny? He’ll tell you all about it, as long as it doesn’t embarrass them…too much.
When he’s not on the air amazing listeners with his knowledge of things no one cares about, and when all of his chores are done, Steve enjoys movies and TV shows, especially science fiction and comedy, and he especially likes hanging out with his family! Most of all, on air or off, Steve gets the most joy out of making people laugh and smile…or just rolling their eyes at his attempts to make them laugh and smile.
Steve has been married to Ali McGrath and has four children: Logan, Libby, Ramsey and Oliver.
