OSHKOSH Wis. (WFRV) – Oshkosh Arena has been home to the Wisconsin Herd for years, but the future remains uncertain as the building is up for sale.

Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce President Rob Kleman caught up with Local 5’s Bryce Oselen and said the building plays a vital role in the local economy.

“The arena is obviously a great asset to the Oshkosh community and kind of an anchor of our Sawdust District, our redevelopment district down on the south side of South Main Street, Lake Front, River Front Area, so it’s a key property,” stated Kleman.

The president of Oshkosh Arena released a statement saying,

The building has recently entered an exciting phase in its history, with the addition of outside partnres to the operational team. This upgrade will translate into a higher profile event schedule for the community and integrate the Oshkosh Metropolitan Area into the national entertainment scene. As this transformation is taking place, the time is right for new ownership to step in to take the arena to the next level.

Greg Pierce, President of Oshkosh Arena

In addition to Pierce’s statement, Kleman says the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce will continue to support the building’s operation regardless of who owns it.
