Walmart store in Wisconsin closing, 100+ associates impacted

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WFRV) – A Walmart store in Milwaukee is reportedly closing its entire facility, and over 100 associates will be impacted at the location.

According to a letter sent to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Walmart is closing its 7025 West Main Street store. The letter states that 105 associates are being impacted at the location.

The entire facility will reportedly close. Officials claim that the store will close to the public on May 17.

All the associates at this facility who reportedly do not find employment with the company following a paid job search will reportedly separate employment effective July 26, 2024.

The letter says that the company expects the employment separations to be permanent. All affected associates can apply for open positions at other Walmart stores, Sam’s Clubs or other company facilities during a 90-day paid job search period.

The company stated in the letter that it is providing associates with various support options. There reportedly are no recall or bumping rights.
