WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities say a search warrant carried out in late May led to the arrest of two men from Romania for their involvement in an ATM skimmer operation at multiple Kwik Trips.

According to a release from the Wisconsin Dells Police Department, a search warrant was carried out on May 27 on the 600 block of Vine Street in the City of Wisconsin Dells as a part of an ongoing investigation involving credit card skimmers placed on Kwik Trip ATMs.
The search warrant resulted in the seizure of skimmers, components for making skimmers, and several other pieces of evidence, so much so, a good amount of the evidence is still being analyzed.
Police arrested two men, 47-year-old Florin Dan Balan and 36-year-old Bogdan Alexandru Ardei, both from Romania, for their alleged involvement in the ATM skimmer operation.
At this time, the following is known about which Kwik Trip locations had skimmers placed and when:
- Wisconsin Dells – Kwik Trip (East) – 1310 Broadway
- May 17th at 12:15 p.m. – 7:55 p.m.
- May 22nd at 3:53 p.m. – May 23rd at 10:06 a.m.
- Lake Delton – Kwik Trip – 523 W. Munroe Avenue
- May 22nd at 1:38pm – May 23rd at 10:20am
- West Baraboo – Kwik Trip – 617 W. Pine Street
- Unknown at this time, however, the skimmer was not recovered by the suspects and was instead seized by law enforcement.
Police say that anyone who may have used the ATM at either of the three locations during the specified time periods should contact their financial institution to see if their account has any fraudulent activity.

Anyone who finds that fraud was committed is asked to contact the law enforcement agency in that jurisdiction.
