Port of Green Bay provides million-dollar economic boom

GREEN BAY Wis. WFRV – The port of Green Bay hosted its annual port symposium. 

Research shows the port is providing an economic boom to Northeast Wisconsin 

“Last year we got a new economic impact study completed and our impact for Northeast Wisconsin increased by 70 million dollars since the last time we did it, so we are valued now at over 217 million dollars per year for Northeastern Wisconsin,” explained Dean Haen. 

Plan to build Cambria Hotel along South Oneida Street in Ashwaubenon on hold

Port Director Dean Haen says he contributes growth to the local workforce. 

“It’s great it’s reflective of the activities we’re doing and the growth that we’re experiencing, we grew by over 330 jobs in the last five years,” stated Haen. 

The port hopes to open a port development site that will open for business in 2027.
