Police in Oshkosh investigating two suspicious situations involving break-ins

OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – Following two separate incidents involving suspects allegedly breaking into people’s homes, police in Oshkosh are investigating.

The Oshkosh Police Department says it is investigating two suspicious incidents where a suspect allegedly broke into residences in Oshkosh. Officials say that it is not known if the two incidents are related.

On April 1 around 7:30 a.m., a woman called reporting that a man went into their residence in the 800 block of Vine Avenue. The woman reportedly said that the man was standing in the doorway to her bedroom.

When the woman yelled at the suspect, he reportedly fled the scene. He was described as being around 6’02” tall with a skinny build. He was reportedly wearing a slim-fitting black jacket, dark pants and a white mask.

Nearly two weeks later on April 14, a woman called reporting that a man went into their house in the 1200 block of Wisconsin Street. Authorities say this happened around 4 a.m.

The woman said that she woke up and saw a man standing over her while she was sleeping. Similar to the first incident, when she screamed the man reportedly fled.

This man was described as a white man around 5’10” to 6′ tall with a muscular build. He was reportedly wearing a long-sleeve dark-colored t-shirt, dark pants and a black ski mask that covered half of his face.
