GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – With about 65 acres of undeveloped land on the campus, plans are underway for what will be called the Phoenix Innovation Park.
Alan Peters, the economic development executive for the project, was hired about eight months ago. He said the area is expected to bring a new hotel, restaurant, mixed-use buildings, and academic buildings to campus.

“You look at the Green Bay, Metro area, and Titletown or downtown, and then this could be referred to as a campus town,” explained Peters. “We want it to be like a live, learn, work, play type atmosphere with different amenities.”
He explained The campus doesn’t have everything on it, forcing students to go off campus for certain needs and amenities, which sparked the idea for the innovation park.
The new innovation park would be on the west end of campus, mostly near the STEM Innovation Center, which has advanced with Brown County’s help.
“From that success, vision for the innovation part continues to grow and has been refined and continues to move forward,” Peters stated.
Although there is no official start or end date for the project as it’s still in the early stages, he said his hope for the project is that it serves both academic purposes and social purposes.
