ASHLAND COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – A K9 in Wisconsin recently made his debut deployment helping a Sheriff’s Office to seize nearly 15 grams of methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia, which also led to the arrest of one man.
According to a release from the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, the newest K9 on the force had a successful first deployment on Wednesday, May 28, on what was just his second day working alongside his handler.

K9 Doc alerted on a vehicle driven by 43-year-old Joshua Prince from Ashland, leading to the seizure of 14.8 grams of methamphetamine, cash, THC, and drug paraphernalia.
Following the seizure, Prince was arrested on the following charges:
- Possession with intent to distribute
- Possession of illegally obtained prescription drugs
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Bail jumping
The Sheriff’s Office is very proud of the new K9 team’s early success. K9 Doc has already proven to be a valuable asset to the department and his keem sense and quick alert helped us remove dangerous drugs from our community.
