Heavy rain and t-storms tonight

The latest Northeast Wisconsin weather forecast from Storm Team 5…

It’s been a quiet day here across Northeast Wisconsin, however, we did see more clouds today and a few passing sprinkles. This is ahead of our first bigger non-snow system of the season, as an area of low pressure continues to build in from the southwest.

This system should not be severe for us, but a majority of the Midwest is in the risk for severe weather, all the way up through southern WI.

For us, the main impacts will be thunder, lightning, downpours, localized flooding, and very gusty winds. With gusts potentially reaching upwards of 45mph, many parts of our area is in a Wind Advisory until 4am tomorrow.

Heavy rain and t-storms will roll in by 6pm this evening and continue overnight. This is the worst of the system. During this time we’ll accumulate about .5″-1″ of rain.

Late tonight, we start to quiet down and will likely be dry until about daybreak tomorrow. By then another, round of showers and t-storms roll in and will continue until the lunch hour. By that time, we will transition to more rain as thunderstorms clear out. Rain chances will slowly decrease through tomorrow evening and we should be dry.

We stay quiet then until Thursday morning when another round of showers will roll in and bring moderate showers throughout most of the morning. These are not severe and will likely be just rain. After the lunch hour, rain chances will slowly taper off with a few sprinkles lingering until Friday morning. We add about another inch of rain during this time.
