Crews brought the fire under control within five minutes, but the kiln room was said to have still been significantly damaged. Due to the quick actions of the firefighters on scene, the fire was kept mostly to the kiln room, with the art classroom seeing only minor damage.
After the fire was out, firefighters ventilated the school to remove smoke from the building, which is said to have taken a significant amount of time due to the size of the school. Officials with the Fond du Lac Fire Rescue are expected to be working closely with school personnel to make sure the school is safe to enter.
No other information is available at this time, and an investigation into the cause of the fire remains ongoing
