More than 80 people participated in the city’s annual Trash Bash, collecting litter and helping restore public spaces after the winter months.
Organizers said the event is about more than just picking up trash; it’s about building a culture of pride and responsibility.
“I think Green Bay really prides itself on being a clean and welcoming place to live,” Downtown Green Bay Inc. Director of First Impressions Jenny Vanden Langenberg said. “I encourage everyone to grab a garbage bag and start cleaning up your neighborhood.”
Cleanup crews focused heavily on the downtown area, where their efforts made an immediate and visible difference along streets and sidewalks.
At the Neville Public Museum, about 20 volunteers from local businesses and education programs worked on seasonal projects, trimming back winter growth and preparing gardens for pollination this spring.

“This really brings the community together and raises awareness about taking care of our Earth,” Neville Public Museum Educator Ali Smurawa said. “Today is Earth Day, but every day can be Earth Day.”
Students from Fundamentals LLC also took part, gaining hands-on experience and seeing how small actions can create meaningful change.
