The Latest from Storm Team 5…
A cluster of rain & storms is moving through the area this morning and will continue through the mid day hours. For the afternoon, the coverage will turn more isolated to at most scattered and as we warm up and turn quite breezy, some storms could contain a small hail and gusty wind threat, but we are not expected severe weather today.
Highs will top out in the upper 60s to low 70s this afternoon. This will be aided by a breezy SW wind gusting to 30-35 mph this afternoon.
Besides a few early thundershowers tonight, the night looks quiet, cloudy and hazy with lows in the mid 50s.
Monday is a day we need to monitor. It will start off quiet under a mix of sunshine and clouds with highs in the afternoon reaching the low 70s for most. Showers and storms will start to bubble up likely in the late PM and evening hours. These storms could be strong to severe, with hail and damaging winds being the main threats. There is a low end tornado risk in the southwest corner of the area.
Tuesday is another day we need to monitor for strong to severe storm potential. As of right now, there is some uncertainty as to the widespread extent of this one. The best chance for showers and storms once again will be in the afternoon and evening. Highs will reach the upper 60s to low 70s.
Rivers are still running high and between now and Wednesday we could be looking at another 1-2″+ of rain, so watch for localized flooding once again.
