Police quickly located the juvenile and confirmed there was no immediate threat to the public, as the juvenile was found to no longer be in possession of the reported firearm.
Due to the concerns of potentially leaving a possibly loaded firearm unaccounted for near a school, K9 Drakon was deployed and officers canvassed the area, eventually locating the gun hidden nearby, which turned out to be a realistic-looking imitation firearm.
Officials say this incident happened outside of normal class hours and the juvenile was cited for displaying a facsimile firearm within 500 feet of a school.
