FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – A man who officials say has no legal status in the United States faces attempted homicide and mayhem charges for a stabbing in Fond du Lac on March 21.
According to Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney, Luis Antonio Sevilla Benavidez faces the following charges, all with domestic abuse and dangerous weapon modifiers:
- Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide
- Mayhem
- Aggravated Battery
40-year-old in western Wisconsin arrested for allegedly castrating a dog
The stabbing occurred in Fond du Lac on March 21, 2026, and according to the release, he was arrested at the scene. Benavidez is set for a hearing on Wednesday morning at 11.
Homeland Security officials say Benavidez has no legal status in the United States.
