MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WFRV) – Just under three weeks after the fatal officer-involved shooting of a wanted suspect driving a tow truck in Milwaukee, officials have released body camera footage.
Authorities investigating after false mass casualty report in southern Wisconsin
The incident occurred on March 12, around 10 a.m., when an officer responded to South 12th Street on a reported wanted suspect on a parole violation, who was found inside of a full-sized flatbed tow truck.
Officials say the suspect refused to exit the truck, and upon attempted forceful removal, the suspect drove off while the officer hung onto the side, demanding he stop the vehicle.
The footage showed the suspect, a 35-year-old man, continuing to refuse with expletive remarks throughout the majority of the 2:47 video, and the officer threatened to shoot if he continued to refuse.

The officer, identified as a 46-year-old with over 21 years of service, fatally shot the man while clinging to the window, bringing the truck to a halt. A passenger was unharmed but hospitalized as a precaution.
The officer has been placed on administrative duty, per standard agency policy. More information is available here.
