MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WFRV) – Opening Day is here, and the first pitch between the Brewers and the White Sox at American Family Field is just a few hours away.
2025 was a special season for the Brew Crew as they finished the year with the best record in baseball at 97-65. After starting the year 0-4, the Brewers compiled three big win streaks, including an 8-game win streak, an 11-game win streak, and, of course, the 14-game win streak in August that got fans free George Webb burgers.
The best record in baseball means the Brewers once again won the National League Central Division, making it the third consecutive season of doing so. The Uecker magic surrounding the team in 2025 ran out in the NLCS against the Dodgers, but not before knocking the division rival Cubs out of the playoffs in a 5-game thrilling NLDS series.

Another series of big offseason trades saw the Brewers say goodbye to a few key pieces of last season’s run, including ace pitcher Freddy Peralta, who finished 25′ with 17 wins, a 2.70 ERA, and 204 strikeouts, and rookie of the year finalist Caleb Durbin. The Brewers will also be without Quinn Priester to start the year, as he is likely to miss at least the first month of 2026 with a nerve issue.
As the Brewers hope to reclaim their spot atop the NL Central for a fourth consecutive season and attempt to take care of some unfinished business in the playoffs, they will have to rely early on some new, young faces like Brandon Sproat and Kyle Harrison, who join an Opening Day roster featuring plenty of familiar and fan-favorite faces like Christian Yelich and William Contreras.
