MANITOWOC, Wis. (WFRV) – The Manitowoc Police Department says it is renewing its request for public assistance in locating a woman who was reported missing on November 20, 1997.
Officer-involved shooting in Wisconsin leaves one dead following pursuit
Officials say the cold case is still actively under investigation, as Jean Jape, who was last seen on or around November 20, 1997, has been missing as she reportedly planned to go out of town for a weekend, but her whereabouts remain unknown.
According to the release, the investigation renewal brings ‘age-progression images’ to the forefront, as officials developed photos of Jean Jape to showcase an ‘updated representation of her current possible appearance.’

The public is also reminded that these photos are estimates and may not be accurate, as her appearance could vary.
Jape’s physical appearance at the last time she was seen:
- 38 years old (would be 66 now)
- 5-foot-2
- 165 pounds
- Dark brown hair
- Blue eyes
- White woman
Officials ask the public to think back to late 1997, especially if they may have had any contact with Jean around that time.
