NEW DUBLIN, Wis. (WFRV) – Delayed by a day thanks to a historic snowstorm, New London has returned to its yearly tradition of becoming New Dublin for the week of St. Patrick’s Day.
Every year in March, the name-changing tradition is led by the local Shamrock Club, and a week-long celebration featuring many Irish-themed events kicks off with the changing of the city sign.

Most of the celebrations throughout the week include a focus on Irish food and music, including Wednesday’s Irish caroling, Thursday’s Family program at New London Senior High School, and Friday’s Céili, or large traditional gathering.
All of the events lead up to the week’s grand final on Saturday, which includes a St. Patrick’s Day Grand Parade and the New Dublin Irish Fest, held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. under a heated big top tent.
