GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials in Green Bay are still actively on the scene of a fire that broke out at Green Bay Converting before 8 a.m. on Monday as efforts surpass the 24-hour mark.
According to a release around 1:40 p.m. on Tuesday, the Green Bay Metro Fire Department still has screws at 2200 Larsen Road, the location of Green Bay Converting.
Electrical issue sparks shed fire in Fond du Lac County, $23,000 loss
The ongoing blizzard severely hindered response efforts, and parts of the building have collapsed, according to the release. The fire was initially reported around 7:45 a.m. on Monday, and nearly 12 hours later, the fire had spread further into the building.Officials say drones have been deployed to assist and the fire is primarily impacting the warehouse area.
In an update around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Lieutenant Shauna Walesh told Local 5 that two firefighters sustained minor injuries during the first 24 hours of the fire suppression efforts.
