Police said a 17-year-old girl told officers that an unknown man followed her closely as she exited a store and attempted to touch her. The teen was able to pull away, and the suspect left the area before officers arrived.
During the investigation, officers learned the same man had reportedly approached other female patrons at nearby businesses and asked for their phone numbers, though those incidents had not been previously reported to law enforcement.
Authorities reviewed surveillance footage and canvassed nearby stores but were initially unable to identify the suspect.
On March 8 at approximately 10:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to another store in the same block after an employee reported the suspect from the March 1 incident was inside. Officers responded and arrested the 27-year-old man from Siren without incident.
