MANITOWOC, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials in Manitowoc are urgently seeking any information around Union Park at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday for an attempted child abduction.

According to the Manitowoc Police Department, officers were called to the 500 block of North 7th Street around 3:45 p.m. for reports that a man tried to grab a child and chased them as they rode away on a scootter.

Witnesses in the area said the man had light-colored skin with a blue shirt and that the person had yelled at them to come over. The suspect reportedly was in a red sedan.
Officials say that a doorbell camera showed a man in a light blue, long-sleeve shirt or sweater with blue jeans, but clear footage is not available at this time. Anybody with information is urged to contact the Manitowoc Police Department at (920) 686-6551.
