(WFRV) – The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) revealed in late December its rejected custom license plates, and now, the most popular specialty plates have been revealed.
Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles rejects 1,300+ custom license plates in 2025
There are over 55 specialty plates, and several hundred thousand were registered last year alone, but there was a clear-cut most popular selection among Wisconsinites—the collector’s edition.
The overwhelming majority of specialty plate registrations were the collector’s edition, with 323,962 total registered in 2025, over six times that of the No. 2 choice, Elkhart Lake’s Road America plate (52,725).
