(WFRV) – Officials say a fire early Tuesday morning destroyed a stacker building and damaged some lumber inventory at Menominee Tribal Enterprises.

According to a release from MTE, the stacker building and the associated equipment inside are being considered a total loss following the fire.
The fire also caused some damage to the lumber inventory, however, there were no injuries related to the incident, and all the on-site employees are safe.

Due to the fire, production operations at MTE will remain closed on Tuesday as the organization assesses the damage and begins to determine the next steps to take for recovery and the continuation of operations. The MTE main store and main office remain open at this time and will continue to operate during normal business hours.
MTE extends its sincere appreciation to the emergency responders for their swift action and to the community for their support and understanding during this time.
