MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities and crews worked to reassure the structural integrity of a duplex in southern Wisconsin after an SUV had crashed through the home on Tuesday afternoon.
A release provided by the Madison Fire Department states that an SUV had backed through the garage of a duplex on Katherine Court around 12:50 p.m. on February 24.
Authorities say the SUV had traveled from across the street and through the duplex’s garage, causing damage to the living room. No injuries to either the driver or the residents were reported.

The crash resulted in damage to a load-bearing wall, and first responders were initially concerned for possible collapse. The MFD Heavy Urban Rescue Team was called in to help secure the property.

Residents were eventually able to return home and were advised of the next steps for restoration and repairs.
Crews were on scene for roughly two hours.
