The initial report indicated that there were three people trapped in the first vehicle and one person trapped in the second vehicle. When deputies arrived on scene, they discovered that an SUV had gone the wrong way on the ramp from I-43 to STH 96.
Deputies say the SUV crashed head-on with a southbound van that was exiting the highway. Two males and one female had to be extricated from the van, all with serious injuries. The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries. Everyone involved was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
However, the 37-year-old passenger of the van passed away on Saturday, November 29, at the hospital. He was identified as a man from Two Rivers.
