WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – Erik Metzig, the man accused of killing his parents at their Wolf River home in March 2023, was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole on Friday.
Metzig, 28, was found guilty due to a no-contest plea on two charges of 1st-Degree Intentional Homicide stemming from the murder of his parents, David and Jan Metzig. David and Jan were the owners of the Union Star Cheese Factory.

On October 17, Metzig appeared in court for a sentencing hearing and will now spend the rest of his life in prison. Metzig will serve consecutive life sentences on both charges.
Metzig was charged with killing his two parents back on March 18, 2023. The parents died from apparent gunshot wounds, according to authorities. Erik was later found at a YMCA in Kimberly.
On August 26, Metzig withdrew his not-guilty plea and was found guilty due to pleading no contest.
