GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The Green Bay Metro Fire Department reported on Thursday night that nobody was injured after a fire was quickly contained and extinguished on the west side of town.
According to the release, firefighters were sent to a reported fire around 6 p.m. Thursday at 1004 Chantel Street, reporting that smoke was coming from the front door and chimney.

The fire was quickly extinguished after responders located it in the basement, bringing the scene under control within 10 minutes. Occupants evacuated on their own with no injuries reported to responders or civilians.
The cause is under investigation, but officials are urging people as a reminder to check smoke detectors and ensure they’re fully operational.
