Personal identification found near the vehicle matched the name of the owner, Mitchell S. Reif of Winneconne.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, which confirmed that Reif was the subject of a welfare check on Sunday but had not been located. He is currently listed as a missing and endangered person.
While deputies searched for Reif, another call came in from a landowner on Homestead Road who said a trail camera had captured an image of someone matching Reif’s description. The image was taken about a half-mile south of where the vehicle was located, just after 8:45 a.m. Sunday.
Authorities are asking anyone in the area who owns property or has trail cameras to check for any signs of Reif.
