DOOR COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – Door County officials say an investigation is underway after a woman’s body was recovered Wednesday evening from the Bay of Green Bay.
According to a release from the Door County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were notified at 5:07 p.m. of a body found floating in the water of the Bay of Green Bay near Little Strawberry Island.
Emergency personnel from the Gibraltar Fire Department, Gibraltar First Responders, Gibraltar Police Department, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Door County Emergency Services, and the Door County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.

The body was recovered and was determined to be a woman’s body. The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time pending confirmation.
At this time, an investigation is underway, and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office is conducting an autopsy.
