It was "Most Memorable Year" night on the dance floor – though it should have been called let's gets super sad and personalbecause of all the teary-eyed video packages. But even a moving tribute to her adult daughter, couldn't save designer Betsey Johnson on a night that gave America (or at least those on the East Coast) a chance to vote in place of the still-missing judge Len Goodman.
"Thank you, thank you, mostly to Tony, to my fans, this has been the best wonderful thing," said Johnson at the end of the show. "It's just been a trip, a big trip!"
The designer who started the night out in jeopardy earned a fairly respectable 29 after performing a panty-flashing handstand in her number with Tony Dovolani. "I think I saw your Victoria's Secret!" quipped judge Bruno Tonioli.
Here were the rest of the scores:
Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy. The Hawaii native danced a smooth-as-silk rumba in honor of a deceased pal named BJ. "I wanted to commend you so much for your technique," said judge Julianne Hough. "You took me to the garden of Eden," added Tonioli. Score: 36 out of 40
Jonathan Bennett and Allison Holker. The Mean Girls actor paid tribute to his breakout role in the Lindsay Lohan film by performing a number that was more hip-hop than samba. "You could never get that easy bounce," said Tonioli. "It has to have the kind of quality of foot placement that wasn't there." "I love the way you attack, but you should have more elegance and more technique," added judge Carrie Ann Inaba. More Here!
