Lady A singer Charles Kelley has revealed that he has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a rare form of blood cancer.
Kelley shared the diagnosis publicly alongside his wife, Cassie, explaining that the discovery followed a series of unexplained rib fractures. After speaking with his doctor and undergoing blood tests, he learned he had the disease.
The 45-year-old singer said he currently feels healthy and remains hopeful as he begins treatment. He also pointed to advances in available treatments and said he expects to continue working during the first six months of the process.
Kelley plans to remain involved with Lady A’s upcoming music projects and scheduled Christmas performances. His bandmates Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood have also expressed their support as he moves through treatment.
Kelley has previously spoken openly about his sobriety journey. He said the experience of taking life one day at a time has helped shape how he is approaching his diagnosis and the months ahead.
