ELDORADO, Wis. (WFRV) – A 19-year-old is now in custody after he and a passenger were hurt in a crash following a pursuit Wednesday morning in Fond du Lac County that reached 100 mph.
According to a release from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle at 3:58 a.m. for speeding on County Road N near Townline Road in the Town of Eldorado.
After activating the emergency lights and siren to initiate the traffic stop, the suspect vehicle turned south onto Townline Road and accelerated up to 100mph before turning onto Subway Road and heading east.

Officials say the deputy in pursuit lost sight of the suspect vehicle’s lights, but soon found the vehicle crashed in a ditch along Subway Road with both the driver and the passenger being taken into custody without any further incident.
Deputies say the passenger was a 16-year-old from Fond du Lac. He was taken to the St. Agnes Hospital by an ambulance to be evaluated for minor injuries before being released to a parent.
The driver, identified as a 19-year-old Van Dyne man, was also taken by ambulance to St. Agnes Hospital for minor injuries. After being evaluated and released from the hospital, he was taken and booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail for the following potential charges:
- Fleeing and Eluding an Officer
- First-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety
- Operating After Revocation
Officials state that the pursuit lasted about 2 miles. No other information is available.
