GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The City of Green Bay has filed a federal lawsuit alleging price fixing by fire truck manufacturers and a private equity firm.
In a statement provided to Local 5 News, city officials said Green Bay is suing American Industrial Partners, REV Group, Oshkosh Corporation and Boise Mobile Equipment under federal and state antitrust and unfair competition laws.

According to the statement, the lawsuit claims the companies consolidated the fire truck market through a series of anticompetitive mergers, acquisitions and other unfair practices, resulting in inflated prices for fire trucks and replacement parts.
“This behavior sharply inflated the cost of fire trucks and parts to fire departments nationwide, including the City of Green Bay,” city officials said.
As an example, the city cited E-One fire engines ordered in 2021 and 2022 that cost $670,000 and $688,000. Comparable engines ordered in 2024, which have not yet been delivered, are expected to cost $1,135,000, according to the city.
