WAUPACA COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials in Waupaca County say dynamite was detonated safely on Friday afternoon after a citizen found and turned it in.
According to a Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office release, a citizen arrived at the station on Friday afternoon around 2:26 to turn over dynamite, believed to be in poor condition and about a century old.

The dynamite was monitored until the Brown and Outagamie County Bomb Squad arrived due to the volatility and age.
Officials say it was collected, transported and safely detonated in an unspecified but safe location by trained technicians.
