GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The Ferguson Family YMCA has a new addition, and it’s a community-wide fridge with a simple name aimed at tackling a difficult problem.
The Fridge is now located on the Pine Street side of the YMCA next to a public health vending machine, with free and fresh food to help provide the community with much-needed food.
Volunteers pack Shiocton to help flood relief efforts
It’s a volunteer-driven effort, as volunteers manage upkeep while community members and businesses provide fresh food for those in need.
According to a release, the idea started from a staff meal when a few kids were noticeably hungry after quickly eating their food.
