JACKSON, Wis. (WFRV) – An apparent lightning strike was the reported cause of a house fire in southeast Wisconsin after neighbors stated they heard a ‘loud boom’ in the area.
Crews say they were called to the 3700 block of Division Road in Jackson around 10:10 p.m. on April 15.
Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office say when they responded, along with numerous other agencies, they talked to neighbors, who reported hearing a loud boom.

Smoke and flames were found coming from the home and quickly spread through the unoccupied residence.
Based on an initial investigation, deputies believe that the fire was started by a lightning strike, and the estimated damage is valued at $335,000.
