SHAWANO COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – Emergency Management officials say that the Flash Flood Watch for the potential failure of Balsam Row Road Dam is expiring as the dam continues to stabilize.
The Shawano Sheriff’s Office also posted potential good news on its Facebook page on Wednesday morning, stating that the “berms constructed overnight appear to be holding and doing their job.”
As of 10 a.m. on April 15, the Flash Flood Watch for the Dam and the Wolf River will expire.
Suamico residents left in awe during flooding caused by record rainfall
“The Flash Flood Watch for the Balsam Row Road Dam will expire for a portion of northeast Wisconsin, including the following area: north central Shawano County,” Emergency Management officials stated. “The flash flooding threat has ended, as the situation at the dam continues to stabilize.”
Crews remain at the scene to remove debris upstream to help the water flow through the dam.
