WEYAUWEGA, Wis. (WFRV) – Emergency management teams were closely monitoring the Big Falls Dam amid fears it could fail on April 14, prompting evacuation preparations for those living closest to the river.

But as of this afternoon, that situation has improved.
The National Weather Service announced the Flash Flood Warning tied to the dam expired at 4:15 p.m., as officials say conditions are currently under control.
However, as Weyauwega sits downstream, emergency crews remain on alert.n Waupaca County, emergency officials had instructed local fire departments to be ready to evacuate residents if needed.
“Your safety is our priority,” Weyauwega Fire Chief Tom Cullen said.
Waupaca Energy Management officials told Local 5 they’ve been working closely with the National Weather Service.

“We’re not estimating too much rain, so it looks like it’s going to the southern part of the county, so we’re feeling pretty confident up here that things are under control,” Waupaca County Emergency Management Director Zach Van Asten said.
Emergency management officials will continue to monitor the situation to ensure safety for those close to the river.
