(WFRV) – Officials with the National Weather Service in Green Bay have issued a potential life-threatening flash flood warning for a break in the Big Falls Dam.
According to the NWS, emergency management reported the imminent failure of the Big Falls Dam at 10:16 a.m., which can cause the possibility of life-threatening flash floods, causing officials to issue a flash flood warning on the Little Wolf River in Waupaca County until 4:15 p.m.

Those being affected by the dam break would be anyone who lives in the nearest downstream town, Big Falls, including along the following streams and drainages:
- Little Wolf River
- Blake Creek
- Shaw Creek
- Little Creek
- South Branch Pigeon River
- Whitcomb Creek
Flooding is currently occurring along the Little Wolf River. Anyone who is in low-lying areas below the Big Falls Dam should immediately move to higher ground.
Officials are warning the public to “turn around, don’t drown” when encountering flooded roads, as most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
