MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WFRV) – One of the world’s most renowned dining and travel guides is expanding its coverage to six Great Lakes cities, including one in Wisconsin.

The MICHELIN Guide announced its expansion into Milwaukee, along with five other regional cities:
- Cleveland
- Detroit
- Indianapolis
- Minneapolis
- Pittsburgh
International Director Gwendal Poullennec expressed a commitment to fostering travel and dining culture in new areas via the release.
“We are excited to finally be putting a stake in the ground in the Great Lakes region, spotlighting the talent and food cultures across these six great cities,” Poullennec said. “Our anonymous Inspectors have begun canvassing these cities for impressive culinary talent.”
Visit Milwaukee President/CEO Peggy Williams-Smith called the announcement a proud moment via a release, also crediting local chefs for making this possible.

“[It’s] a testament to the incredibly talented chefs and hospitality professionals who make dining here so memorable,” Williams-Smith said. “Their craft, care and unmistakable Milwaukee spirit create experiences you can’t find anywhere else, and we’re ready for the world to discover it.”
The full restaurant selection hasn’t been announced yet, but the release expects it to be revealed in 2027 at the inaugural MICHELIN Guide American Great Lakes Ceremony, which has no set date.
