HARTFORD, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Wisconsin say a fire on Easter Sunday at a commercial printing facility is estimated to have caused nearly $1,000,000 in damage.
According to a release from the Hartford Fire & Rescue, crews responded at 3:18 p.m. to reports of a fire inside Quad Graphics near West Sumner Street and Independence Avenue.
Officials say a caller notified 911 of a fire inside building No. 6 next to the presses. The first arriving crews were met with smoke coming from an overhead garage door.

A maintenance employee then directed firefighters to where the fire was located inside the building. Due to the size of the building and the amount of smoke, additional assistance was requested, and a sprinkler from the fire suppression system was activated to control the fire and stop it from spreading any further.
The fire was then extinguished, and the area was overhauled to ensure no other fire remained. No fire personnel were hurt in this incident, and no employees were hurt as the plant was shut down for the Easter holiday.
Early estimates show that the total loss is near $1,000,000 worth of damage. No other information is available, and an investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
