STEPHENSON, Wis. (WFRV) – One person is dead, and another has been hospitalized after rolling over a UTV in Marinette County that is believed to be due to alcohol and speed.
According to the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, around 3:05 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, an off-duty Marinette County Sheriff’s detective reported a single UTV crash on Caldron Falls Road near Fawn Lane in Stephenson.
The deputy stopped and found two people pinned under a rolled UTV and immediately began rendering aid.

Deputies say that based on the initial investigation, the UTV, driven by 40-year-old Brooke D. Boulanger of Crivitz, overturned on a turn. Boulanger was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger was also hospitalized.
“Speed, alcohol, and failure to wear a seatbelt appear to have been factors in the crash,” deputies noted.
The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, and the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office.
