(WFRV) – Following the ice storm that rolled through Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula on Thursday, more than 26,000 customers remain without power Friday morning.
As of 6:30 a.m., according to the WPS and We Energies outage maps, a total of 26,401 customers in Wisconsin and the UP are currently without power. WPS reports 20,165 customers without power, and We Energies reports 6,236 customers without power.

According to WPS, crews are dealing with significant ice buildup on equipment and trees and limbs across northern Wisconsin, which could be causing delays in their response times.
Officials at WPS say they have already restored power to over 24,000 customers since the initial outages during the storm were reported. They add, “We’ll keep at it until everyone has their lights back on.”
