(WFRV) – The Wisconsin-native who gained a large following online from her American Idol journey on Season 24 has officially seen her journey come to an end.

Genevieve Heyward, who became known as the Pickle Girl by judges and fans, was eliminated via the fan vote in an unexpected twist that saw only six of the originally planned eight eliminations.
While the Lake Geneva native expressed some sadness over the results on her Facebook, she also expressed excitement for the future and what comes after.
“Thank you to everyone who’s been following along,” Heyward said on Facebook. “We’re just getting started!”

The official American Idol account posted a quick video to celebrate her journey on the show, as she performed numerous hits like Pink Pony Club by Chappell Roan and Your Song by Elton John.
According to the show, the delay in election announcements was due to the sheer amount of votes after the creators introduced new voting methods, such as social media comments.
