KOMENSKY, Wis. (WFRV) – A 66-year-old Wisconsin man was arrested Sunday evening for his ninth OWI offense after allegedly acting assaultive toward other motorists.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a report shortly before 7:15 p.m. on March 29 about a suspicious vehicle at a gas station in the village of Merrillan.

A second caller told authorities the driver was intoxicated and had been assaultive toward them.
A deputy later located a vehicle matching the description on County Road K in the town of Komensky. During the traffic stop, the driver — identified as Steven Cleveland, 66, of Black River Falls — admitted to consuming alcohol, displayed signs of impairment and refused to participate in field sobriety testing, according to officials.

Cleveland was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on charges of OWI (ninth offense), intimidation of victims and disorderly conduct. Authorities say he was on parole for a felony OWI at the time of his arrest.
The incident remains under investigation.
