FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – The man convicted of a fatal fentanyl overdose that occurred in Fond du Lac four years ago was sentenced to over two decades of prison time.
According to Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney, Omar Jabbar Simpson was involved in a fentanyl delivery on March 5, 2022, that led to a mother’s overdose death.

The criminal complaint stated that the fentanyl levels in her body at the time of her death would have killed her ‘seven times over.’
Simpson’s bifurcated 22-year prison sentence is as follows:
- 12 years—initial confinement
- 10 years—extended supervision
“The illicit flow of fentanyl into the United States and into Wisconsin destroys families, with parents continuing to bury their children and other children growing up without their moms and dads,” District Attorney Toney said via the release.
