LITTLE CHUTE, Wis (WFRV) – More than 24 hours after the last flakes stopped falling, the cleanup for the winter storm continues.
“Be patient with us, we’re doing the best we can,” Outagamie County Highway Department patrol superintendent Adam Duchow told Local 5 News. “This is probably the biggest storm in most of our careers here.”
Plow drivers continue to prioritize the busiest roads as they dig out from this historic winter storm. Many roads in Outagamie County were down to bare pavement by Tuesday evening.

Local 5 News revisited several roads that had been almost impassable on Monday because of drifting snow. We noticed significant improvement on those same roads by Tuesday afternoon, although there are still snowy, icy, and slushy spots.
“I think by the end of today (Tuesday) our hope is that everything, including our local roads in our towns and villages. Hopefully, everything is at least widened, opened up, mostly two lanes,” Duchow told Local 5 News.
Throughout the Fox Valley, tall snow banks continue to bury mailboxes in neighborhoods. Local 5 also saw a car in a driveway in Neenah completely covered by snow.
There were also plenty of people using shovels and snowblowers to clear their driveways. The heavy, wet snow has been tough on some of the snow clearing equipment.
“Monday I got in here to 40 missed calls, 15 messages on the machine, and people have been calling ever since,” mechanic Jake Pleshek told Local 5 News.
Most of those calls were people needing their snowblowers fixed. Pleshek works for Pleshek’s Outdoor Power in Kaukauna. They sell and repair power equipment like snowblowers, and the winter storm has kept them busy.

Pleshek offered some advice for people who still need to use a snow blower to clear the snow from this winter storm.
“Take it slow, take small bites of the snow, drop it down to first gear if you have it,” he said.
In the last couple of days, the Outagamie County sheriff’s department received almost 500 disabled vehicle calls and responded to over 50 crashes.
