DE PERE, Wis. (WFRV) – Students in De Pere are giving back in a “BIG” way after collecting more than 3,600 items to donate to a local food pantry.

It was a friendly competition as National Honor Society students from De Pere High School competed amongst the different social studies classes to raise the most items to donate, with the donated items being collected from March 2 through March 6.
School officials say it was Mr. Dessart’s classes that won the competition and enjoyed some victory donuts. In total, a whopping 3,668 items were donated to the De Pere Christian Outreach’s food pantry.

The overwhelming love and support through donations led to the De Pere Christian Outreach officials to state that they needed to use the “BIG” truck. All the items loaded onto the truck are said to be going to local families in need.
